Blood & Bone Marrow Drive

Give RED for HEAD Blood Drive

The HEADstrong Foundation says “thank you” to the 150+ people who came to support our annual blood drive. In conjunction with the American Red Cross, the 2nd annual blood drive was held on Friday, November 28th from 8am – 2pm at the Ridley Community Center and resulted in 138 units of blood collected. According to the Red Cross, we all expect blood to be there for us, but barely a fraction of those who can give do. Yet sooner or later, virtually all of us will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood. And that time is all too often unexpected. The HEADstrong Foundation understands the need for a plentiful blood supply as we experienced this first hand as Nick’s battle against cancer required him to receive frequent blood and platelet transfusions.
It is our pleasure to honor Nick’s memory and a powerful way to serve our community by hosting a much needed blood drive every year. Nick made a difference and it’s our turn to continue to make a difference in the lives of others.

Giving blood is easy; please think about joining us next year because:

    1. You can help other people
    2. One unit of blood can help save the lives of 3 people
    3. It’s safe and only takes about 15 minutes
    4. Every 2 seconds someone needs blood
    5. 38,000 units are needed daily

    Thank you.
