The HEADstrong Foundation invites you to join our Team of Champions in the battle against blood cancer by hosting a HEADstrong event at your school during your regular lacrosse season. We encourage boys and girls, youth and high school teams to partake.
This program serves as a community service project as participants are involved in raising funds for blood cancer research and awareness about the disease.
Here is how the program works:
- Collectively select a date for the event
- Notify the foundation through our website at least 3 weeks prior to the event
- School, include Coach’s and Athletic Director’s Contact Information
- Date
- Location
- We will send out our event kit which includes (on consignment)
- 144 official HEADstrong lime green t-shirts @ $15
- 100 official HEADstrong shoe laces @ $10
- 50 HEADstrong awareness bands to be distributed
- Literature about Nick and the foundation to be distributed
- One sign
- We count on the teams’ publicity the event (posters, morning announcements, local paper, etc.) and selling our merchandise prior to and at the event. All team members should be involved
- The team captains should address the audience sharing Nick’s story and informing them about the HEADstrong Foundation
- Teams are responsible to return any unsold merchandise and the proceeds for the merchandise that was sold.
- Take pictures and send in to the foundation for posting on our website.
Other ways to generate funds:
- Charge an admission fee for this event only
- Have the parents donate concessions to be sold during the game
- Pass a bucket asking for donations
- Have the team come up with ideas and take a vote with majority rules
- 50/50
- Dance
Thank you so much for keeping Nick’s vision alive and for doing your part to help us get a”HEAD” of cancer.
